Yavapai County News – On November 8, 2022, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Deputies conducted a speed enforcement detail in both the Prescott Valley and Verde Valley areas due to multiple high-speed complaints. During this detail, a Deputy observed one vehicle Cornville Road, traveling 68 MPH near Milepost 7, where the posted speed limit is 50 MPH. Sedona News – The Sedona Heritage Museum will feature a chair caning demonstration on November 21, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Dale Compton will demonstrate the steps for hand caning a traditional chair seat, a hobby that requires time and patience, but very few tools. Dale has been hand caning chairs as a hobby for eighteen years and has caned nearly 50 chairs. He obtains the chairs from flea markets, garage sales and friends, often as derelicts in poor condition. Sedona News – The Sedona Police Department launched a traffic enforcement effort with support from an Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety grant totaling $23,525. One grant pays overtime to enforce and participate in driving under the influence (DUI) programming. Approximately one-third of all traffic crash fatalities in the U.S. involve drunk drivers. In 2021, 121,345 total vehicle crashes resulted in 1,063 fatalities in Arizona. More specifically, 243 of those people were killed in DUI crashes.
