Verde Valley News – No-cost tax preparation and e-filing services for taxpayers of all ages by AARP Tax-Aide IRS-certified volunteers will be at Camp Verde Community Library again this year.

Patrons requiring tax assistance need to first come to Camp Verde Community Library’s PC Help Desk, pick up an AARP Taxpayer Packet, and sign-up with their name and phone number.  You will then be contacted by an AARP representative to set 2 appointments to meet with them at the library at the agreed upon time which will be on Tuesdays during tax season between 3 and 6 pm. AARP representatives will be set up in the library’s upstairs Founders Room near the fireplace for these appointments. There will be a sign-in sheet outside the room when you arrive for your appointment.  Please sign in when you arrive and wait for your name to be called for assistance.

All forms in the AARP Taxpayer packet and all necessary requested documents must be filled out, signed and brought to the first appointment.  A short interview will take place and after the interview is complete the AARP representative will inventory your tax documents and ask you to verify that inventory. You will then be given a reminder of your 2nd appointment time.

On the date of your second appointment, you will receive an explanation and copy of your tax return, sign an IRS form that will allow AARP to electronically file your return, and your tax documents will be returned to you.

Camp Verde Community Library is located just off of Montezuma Castle Highway at 130 Black Bridge Road, Camp Verde AZ. For more information about this or any other library program visit the library’s website at www.cvlibrary.org

It Takes a Lifetime and Sometimes Even More

    By Amaya  Gayle

Sedona, AZ — It takes a lifetime (perhaps lifetimes) of stretching and expanding, ripping and tearing, just to move through one’s predispositions, to meet one’s inbred resistance and evolve to the grace of simple tolerance. During this precious part of the journey, it feels like you are taking the steps, are choosing right, left or straight ahead, that you are in the game.
