    Camp Verde Community LibraryCamp Verde News – No-cost tax preparation and e-filing services for taxpayers of all ages by AARP Tax-Aide IRS-certified volunteers will be at Camp Verde Community Library again this year throughout the 2022 tax season.

    This year, tax assistance is available by appointment only. You must stop by the PC Helpdesk to pick up an AARP Taxpayer Packet and sign up to be contacted to schedule an appointment. 

    All forms in the AARP Taxpaer packet and all necessary requested documents must be filled out, signed and brought to the first appointment.  A short interview will take place and then you will then be given a reminder of your second appointment time.

    On the date of your second appointment, you will receive an explanation and copy of your tax return, sign an IRS form that will allow AARP to electronically file your return, and your tax documents will be returned to you.

    Appointments will be on Tuesdays between 3:00 and 6:30 pm, starting February 8th, and ending on April 12th.

    City Council Weighs ATV Ban Ordinance Proposal

    The Sedona City Council at its May 23, 2023 meeting took no action on a proposed ordinance that would ban all off-road vehicles from being driven on state-owned public roads or streets owned by the city. The ordinance, spearheaded by Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow on the premise that such vehicles pose a risk to the health, safety and welfare of the community, would impose heavy fines to anyone driving the ATVs or OHVs on city streets, including S.R. 179 and S.R. 89A. ATV rental companies have admitted that such vehicles are not intended or designed to be driven on paved roads, yet, in Arizona, they are allowed to do so under Arizona Revised Statute 28-1174 (4B). Opponents against the ordinance argued at the meeting that if adopted the ban would cripple the ATV rental industry in Sedona and cause much hardship to the owners and employees, as it would effectively, as written, destroy their livelihood.
