    Sedona AZ (August 28, 2012)

I hope you, my fellow citizens, have also received the Public Notice flyer. If you didn’t, the Notice was to inform you that the Planning and Zoning Commission is considering a Major Amendment, which would redesignate 4.6 acres atop Airport Mesa. This redesignation would allow Sky Ranch Lodge to expand and build 40 new lodging units, a 6,000 square foot conference center, and up to 4 affordable housing units. There is a public hearing about this issue on Tuesday September 18th at 5:30pm in the City Hall Council Chambers.

Please exercise your democratic rights and let your voice heard – if not at the meeting, then by e-mail. Michael Raber, Senion Planner for the Department of City Development, has provided his e-mail address – mraber@SedonaAZ.gov – for your feedback. Hopefully he will tally our votes and let the Council know the will of the people. Then may the Council, our representatives, vote accordingly.

Jet fuel dumping over Sedona residents’ homes. This airport is literally murdering people in their own homes. Go to the website to see my blood tests showing the jet fuel in my blood and sign the petition.

The airport must be moved away from Sedona immediately, every day it is here places all of us in danger. The cancer from jet fuel dumping can be as long as 20 years out.
We also have lead poisoning from breathing leaded Av gas exhaust coming off small piston aircraft. Young children are being chelated here. The airport exists off all our backs, we pay for it in lost lives, medical expenses, and permanent health damage!

        Kristin-

I feel so sad to hear about your poor health. If your issues are as urgent as your email makes them seem perhaps you should run, sell your house and leave town. I’ll be sorry to see you go but, if your health issues are that bad, it’s then time to go.

The Sedona airport has been here since the mid-50’s – it existed when you moved here, and you were fully aware of the airport and it’s benefits to the community. Jets do NOT dump fuel over populated areas, and only do it for specific purposes – this is a fear-based projection not based on fact.

It’s very common for people to move into a community, surround an existing airport, and then complain about it. Silly, but true.
So if you have an issue with an existing entity that you chose to live by, and this choice is negatively effecting your health, then you need to make a different choice for yourself – not the whole community.

I support and encourage your choice to take care of yourself for your highest good and health!
And I support the airport and Sky Lodge Ranch.

Sky Ranch Lodge has been a family run business for many years. Offering good value to their guests. They have been good stewards of the land and provide a beautiful place to stay while in Sedona. I don’t see any reason why they should be denied this request.
