… among us and when we are blessed we get a glimpse of them as they pass through. Mostly we have Mule deer and a lesser number of the diminutive Coues Whitetail deer around here … this magnificent creature is an eight point buck Whitetail deer that I shot (camera only) on Lake Road near the cabin in northern Wisconsin last fall. This year is a skip year, but I will be back there next fall and possibly sooner.

Heading down to Lake Pleasant a couple of days this week and hoping to get some good waterfowl and shorebird shots … be great if we can get some shots of the wild burros down there too … also looking forward to being on a lake where there is some water. Lake Pleasant is part of the Central Arizona Project that brings in water from the Colorado River and is a storage facility for water, thus it is less impacted by a lack of rainfall. I only have a few more weeks before the replacement of my left knee which will put boating and some other activities on the sideline for a couple of months. By the end of the year I am expecting to be back to going for long walks around here, plus more boating and other activities. We are so blessed to be living in the times we are where when expiration dates of many body parts come up,  we can extend them … on some things 🙂

Time to wrap the day, have an absolutely wonderful day today … as always, we get to choose how we perceive each moment of each day … choose to enjoy life.

    Smiles,

    Ted

I go out into the night and stretch forth my arms, as
if to embrace one I love.

I walk along streets which I have never before trodden,
thinking I shall meet someone who is looking for me.

The solace of the stars is sweet, and the stillness has
    a voice I understand.

    If I Were Curtis Sliwa
    By Tommy Acosta

One of my guilty little pleasures is imagining what I would do if I was in someone else’s shoes, especially politicians. In this essay I would love to jump into the shoes of Curtis Sliwa, a former New York City vigilante who founded the Guardian Angels and is now running as a Republican for mayor of his city.
