logo_ycsoPrescott AZ (July 17, 2019) – Today Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office needs your help in locating John Williamson. In July of this year, YCSO detectives began investigating the theft of $30,000 from an 84-year-old woman victimized by a scam. The woman told detectives that upon returning from a trip, 2 men showed up at her door arriving in a black truck. They told her that while she was gone, it was necessary to replace her entire septic system at a cost of $67,000. Her first response was that of panic because she did not have that much money. They told her she could make payments and suggested going to the bank to obtain what cash she could.

20190717_WilliamsonUnder duress, she agreed, and they followed her to a Prescott area bank while they waited across the street. The 84-year-victim withdrew $12,500, went across the street and surrendered the cash to the suspects. The next day, the same 2 men came back and asked for more money and she wrote out a check for $17,500 and the men left. On the following day, she received a call from a bank in Flagstaff, Arizona, requesting her authorization to cash the check and she told them yes, based on the work completed. The bank then cashed the check. No work was done on the septic system.

    What Would I Change?
    By Amaya Gayle Gregory

What would I change if I could? You and I both know I can’t, but it’s a fun exercise anyway. I would have been less of a know-it-all on my spiritual journey. It seems to be a side-effect of the path. Spiritual folks develop an all-knowing buffer to protect against their inevitable surrender to the unknown, but understanding that now didn’t make it gentler on me or those I loved, let alone those that I deemed not capable of getting it 😉 Yeah … I’d have dropped the spiritual snob act. I’d have recognized that spiritual radicals are only different on the outside from radical right Christians, and that the surface doesn’t really matter as much as I thought. We are all doing our couldn’t be otherwise things, playing our perfect roles. I’d have learned to bow down humbly before my fellow man, regardless of whether I agreed with him or not. We’re all in this together and not one of us will get out alive. Read more→
