… every time I go to the Grand Canyon superlatives go out the window and awesomeness sets in. It was blowing hard and the Ravens were having a hard time penetrating into the wind and the orographic lift from the canyon walls was phenomenal. Just releasing their grips on the tree branches was enough to shoot them up fifty feet just by spreading their wings. I made the mistake of not bringing my 1DX bodies to shoot the Ravens, so a few issues with the shots … on the other hand the 5D MK IV did a great job on the “normal” shooting. Not sure which point/vista I took this shot from, but the GPS data is in the meta data if you want to check. Rather than going large on my photos up there I am focusing my work on small segments with huge depth of field and fascinating curves, ridgelines and such.
We checked out Lake Mary, Lowell Observatory, Anderson Mesa Campus on our way to the GC and on the way home a trip up to Snowbowl. Fun day for sure … hoping the boat comes pretty soon as there are so many lakes up on the rim to explore. Winds still going to be up for a few days so no flying and more exploration and lapidary work around here.
Appreciate all the comments on the calendar cover and will be incorporating some of the suggestions. Next rev out next week.

In addition to sales of photographs already taken Ted does special shoots for patrons on request and also does air-to-air photography for those who want photographs of their airplanes in flight. All special photographic sessions are billed on an hourly basis.
Ted also does one-on-one workshops for those interested in learning the techniques he uses. By special arrangement Ted will do one-on-one aerial photography workshops which will include actual photo sessions in the air.
