… I was searching through past months to find a shot to do a composite with … then I found this shot I took of Kendrick Peak last fall … that was it, the beauty and purity of the color on Kendrick Peal up on the plateau. I had planned a to do a composite utilizing an astro type shot which would be appropriate in showing the origins as Kendrick, like everything else up there has its origins in volcanic activity. The more I looked at the photo though, the purity of color in it should stand on its own.

So a very simple crop (this is about 80% of the frame) a couple of tweaks and here it is. Kendrick at 10,418’ msl is the12th highest summit in Arizona. There are several trails that lead to the top and the vertical rise from the surface is about 2400’. A link to the trails and info is: https://hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=295 and access via forest service roads is very good.

I have not yet climbed it, but the views are amazing; the Grand Canyon, the San Francisco Peaks are all beautiful from there. Hoping for good color this fall too with all the rain we have had so far this year.

One more day on the ground and by end of day on Friday, Rick will have finished the annual inspection of Mariah and I can fly again. Spring is coming to the plateau and it should be beautiful … except for the air quality which thanks to some fires are giving us air that is not fit to breathe. Not sure what type of fires they are, so can’t comment on them, other than the air quality sucks!

So, this is it for the week, and if all goes as planned, I will be back Monday morning. Have a beautiful rest of the week … seek beauty, share a smile with those you meet and greet.

    Cheers

Thou. Great God, uphold me also in the lonely hour; and though I fall in the din and the dust of the world, resurrect Thou me.
Even to the last, turn my hands to kindly service, and part my lips in gleeful songs of love.
And in the softly falling dark, when all grows strangely still,
May I be glad to have trod the sweet green earth, and know the tender touch of love.
Yet may I depart with joy, as one who journeys home at evening.
