… a late afternoon flight today with the intent to get some great sunset shots up at the peaks and with the snow on the peaks I expected to get some beautiful shots. Once in the air and above the plateau a different scene emerged … hazy smokey air everywhere I could see. ‘tis the time they burn slash piles … why not mechanically get rid of these concentrated messes instead of putting them into the air? Or just leave them to recycle naturally; slash piles are not part of the natural order, nor is burning them.
So with lousy air, it seemed a good idea to go low over the forest and shoot light and shadow like the photo enclosed tonight; I was less than a thousand feet over the forest and thus very little air to shoot through so I got nice bright photos. Not sure exactly where I was when I shot it, but it was west of Rogers lake and a lot of roads in the forest there; maybe a development of some kind. Anyhow, it was fun to be in the air and going low to get shots like this.
A new week underway … enjoy the beauty around you wherever you are … it is there, just look for it.

In addition to sales of photographs already taken Ted does special shoots for patrons on request and also does air-to-air photography for those who want photographs of their airplanes in flight. All special photographic sessions are billed on an hourly basis.
