… think it was “the hazy lazy days of summer” and the phrase always conjures up memories of going over to Lake Nokomis, or out to Lake Minnetonka for a family picnic on the weekend. In 2001 I had a custom motorhome made so that Corky could still travel and for years we kept it at the beautiful motorhome park on the SE corner of Lake Pleasant. During the day I would go soaring out of Turf Soaring at Pleasant Valley Airport only a few miles from the park and in the evening we would go for a walk around the park which included a number of trails along the lake which she could navigate and then out for dinner … or not.
I took this shot in 2005 as we were on a walk after a great day of soaring. The view is looking across the lake, over part of the Marina and up into the foothills and the Bradshaw Mountains. The lake is about 12 miles long and about 4 miles north of it there is/was a short dirt strip which we affectionately referred to as Turf North. It was a bailout strip for those of us who flew north and for whatever reason found ourselves in a position where we were unable to head north over the Bradshaw’s and did not have the altitude to make it back to Turf. Think it was about 1200’ long and I landed there three times … towed out once and trailered out the next two times. Lots of hours in the air soaring up there and many days on the ground marveling at the beauty of the area.
Also attaching a photo looking down a rather short runway … Turf North and my friend Cliff had just put down fresh lime stripes on the gravel. Think a number of us had recently landed there and had issues with people camping on the runway … such as it was. The view is looking back to the SE where I took the first photograph.
Time for a wrap of the day … another good one, and why not? Always a choice as to how we perceive the day and all the events and people we meet.

In addition to sales of photographs already taken Ted does special shoots for patrons on request and also does air-to-air photography for those who want photographs of their airplanes in flight. All special photographic sessions are billed on an hourly basis.
Ted also does one-on-one workshops for those interested in learning the techniques he uses. By special arrangement Ted will do one-on-one aerial photography workshops which will include actual photo sessions in the air.
