… you are looking at a somewhat agitated Rufous Hummingbird beginning enforcement action against a horde of invading bees. The bees tend to block the holes in the feeders and these little guys clear them out … they are in charge … for a few minutes and then it all begins again. I had to get away from the area as the bees were pretty aggressive … I did get quite a few nice shots though. Thanks to Terry for getting me straightened out on the spelling of these beautiful creatures … Rufous, not Rufus … smiles.
A very nice day, lunch with a friend, a lot of photo work and a leisurely afternoon drive doing errands and a Walmart run … a sugar free vanilla latte from Wildflower on the way home to One … she is truly a delight and the bright spot in my home … always here and always there to greet me at the door … time on my lap a few times a day and curls up by me at night … life is good … portrait of her tomorrow night to close the week out.
A lot of signatures on the petition to help preserve the Grand Canyon from a massive development at the very beginning of the canyon … Marble Canyon ends and the Grand canyon begins at the Confluence of the Colorado and Little Colorado rivers. It is a beautiful and pristine area that needs to remain as is. If you have not done so already, please click on the link following and then the link to sign the petition. http://www.grandcanyontrust.org/news/2014/08/grand-canyon-siege-can-help/
Thursday is pretty well underway; the plan was to finish this earlier, but a series of display driver crashes cost me about an hour … working fine now … I think. Some more painting in the morning, feed the hummers, cut some stones and then a friend is coming over in the afternoon … fun day.

Though work bring naught of power nor wealth
Spare me from want of common needs, And give a share of manly health,
A few good friends of honest deeds;
And till death’s peaceful slumber nears, a life of undishonored years.
