VERDE VALLEY, Ariz. – Yoonha Kim, Physician Assistant (PA-C), at the Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) Breast Care Clinic in Sedona, has been named NAH’s 2025 Advanced Practice Provider of the Year in Verde Valley. She is recognized for her positive attitude, respect for colleagues and the skilled, compassionate care she provides to her patients.
Advanced Practice Providers (APP) are an essential part of any patient’s care team, as they work seamlessly with physicians and other members of the care team to ensure that each patient receives the best care possible. This is the seventh year NAH is recognizing APPs. The recipients are nominated by colleagues and must exemplify the NAH values of doing amazing work, showing compassion, being better together, building community and respecting differences.
Kim’s nominations from colleagues noted her as a respected provider in the clinic, one who ensures that every patient feels welcome, supported and informed as they navigate their treatment options. One colleague said, “in a space where a new breast cancer diagnosis or breast health issue can feel clinical, she brings soul, her presence is personal and her impact is profound.”
“Yoonha is an invaluable member of the team at the Sedona Breast Care Clinic and we are beyond pleased that we are able to honor her dedication and hard work,” said Dave Cheney, CEO of Northern Arizona Healthcare. “Breast health is a vital part of staying healthy and Yoonha consistently provides expert, compassionate support to patients, which is one of the many reasons her colleagues nominated her for this award. APPs are the backbone of a patient’s care team, and we believe it is important to recognize these members of Team NAH who demonstrate accountability when serving members of the community every day,” Cheney added.
The APP of the Year Award aims to select providers who not only excel at patient care, but who go above and beyond when it comes to patient safety and quality. It also recognizes providers who are engaged members of the community and are leaders and role models within the organization.
