Sedona, AZ — The Sedona-Oak Creek Airport Authority (SOCAA) is proud to announce that the Sedona Airport collected its greatest number of toys for the annual Toys for Tots Campaign!  Fourteen large boxes which included 4 bicycles were collected.

The Airport, in partnership with the Sedona Airport Hangar Owners (SAHO) has been a part of this campaign since 2011.  The Toys for Tots campaign started the 29th of October and concluded the 2nd of December.  Toys for Tots was created as a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation by the US Marine Corp in 1991.  Locally it is administered by SAVCO (Sedona Area Veterans and Community Outreach), formerly the Marine Corps League.

The Campaign concluded with a ‘Stuff the Bus’ ceremony where the City of Sedona, Police Department, Sedona Fire District, and the Sedona Airport brought their contributions to the Posse Grounds with police escort.  Employees of the Airport, including lineman Corey Nichols, and members of SAHO, represented by Bob Stevens and Mercy Kettler, added the Airport haul and helped load the toys on a City of Sedona Shuttle Bus.

General Manager, Ed Rose, was unable to attend the Stuff the Bus celebration but expressed his pleasure at the number of toys collected:

“The Sedona – Oak Creek Airport Authority is proud of our relationship with the Sedona Airport Hangar Owners, Airport staff, customers, and visitors in coming together to generously provide a record-breaking 14 boxes of toys and bicycles for less fortunate children in our community.  We’re happy to be a part of this team and a huge “Thank You” to all those who contributed to make a difference in these young lives.”
