Sedona, AZ– October 28, 2025– This fall SedonaKind is celebrating a remarkable milestone:  ten years of spreading kindness throughout Sedona and beyond. In conjunction with World Kindness Day, SedonaKind is celebrating this milestone with a Season of Kindness.  What was once Kindness Day ten years ago has become a season of countless acts of generosity, creativity and compassion that have become the hallmarks of SedonaKind.

Founded in 2015, SedonaKind began with a simple idea: to inspire and encourage acts of kindness, large and small, locally and around the world.  Over the past decade volunteers have crafted and distributed thousands of handmade “Kindness Charms”, supported local students and teachers, recognized community heroes, honored local veterans, and sparked projects that make Sedona a more caring place for all.

“Our mission has always been to make kindness visible,” said SedonaKind board member Karen Bare.  “As we celebrate ten years, we want to thank everyone in this amazing community who has joined us on this journey.  Kindness has a ripple effect – the ripples have reached far beyond Sedona.”

The 2025 Season of Kindness will touch many areas of the community and will uplift people across all walks of life.

    Upcoming Events include:

Ongoing in November:  Gratitude Trees placed in public areas around the city, including the Community Library Sedona, The Sedona Community Center, West Sedona School and Sedona Winds.  The Community is invited to inscribe their thoughts of gratitude on lovely heart ornaments and place them on the trees.

November 10, 2025 SedonaKind Kindness in Schools will read Gratitude is My Superpower and distribute handmade hats to the students at West Sedona School.

November 12, 2025 SedonaKind will receive its 10th annual proclamation from the City of Sedona proclaiming November 13th Sedona Kindness Day at the regularly scheduled city council meeting at 4:00pm.

November 13, 2025 SedonaKind will host an evening of Sensational Shorts with support from the Sedona International Film Festival.  These award-winning short films represent some of the best films shown at the Sedona International Film Festival. They cover a diverse, fascinating and fun spectrum of subjects. The movie event is SedonaKind’s annual fundraiser. The public is invited and proceeds from the box office will benefit SedonaKind. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased in advance or at the box office. Showings will be at 3:30 and 6:30.  Visit https://sedonafilmfestival.com/event/sensational-shorts-2025/ to learn more.

In addition to these events, SedonaKind has prepared and will deliver Veteran Blessing Bags to the VFW Post 7400 in Cottonwood on Veterans Day.  SedonaKind has partnered with Bombas Socks to provide the veterans with new socks in each of the bags.  Bombas socks will also be distributed through Manzanita Outreach.

SedonaKind has a group of knitters who have made beautiful blankets for the veterans at the Veterans Hospital in Prescott. Those blankets will be wrapped and delivered for the holidays.

This July, SedonaKind sponsored a homebound food box for the Sedona Food Bank.  In each box was a Kindness heart, letting those homebound residents know that they were not forgotten.

In October SedonaKind partnered with the Humane Society of Sedona for Every Pet Matters providing pet necessities for those in need at the Sedona Food Bank.  SedonaKind also partnered with Accord Hospice’s Camp Soar and hosted an activity for campers to make memory boxes.  In December SedonaKind will partner with Verde Valley Caregivers to lead a craft at their neighbors’ holiday luncheon hosted by Taawaki Inn.

GratefulTree1Gratitude Trees can be found at the Community Library Sedona, Sedona Community Center, West Sedona School and Sedona Winds during November.
