    International Raptor and Falconry Center event features North America’s best kept secret

    Sedona, AZ –The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to partner with the International Raptor and Falconry Center to present “Meet the Rare Ferruginous Hawk” — North America’s best kept secret — at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.

    Most people have never heard of the Ferruginous Hawk; yet it’s North America’s largest soaring hawk and a grassland specialist facing serious conservation challenges. Learn why this powerful, wide-winged raptor is so hard to study—and so vulnerable. From their picky diet to their disappearing habitat, discover what makes Ferruginous Hawks both extraordinary and at risk.

    Meet Quinn! She is an exceptionally rare dark-morph Ferruginous Hawk, a genetic variation found in only a small fraction of an already uncommon species. This is a rare chance to see one up close and gain insight into a species few ever encounter.

    This event is designed for adults and curious minds — ideal for nature lovers, wildlife photographers, educators and anyone interested in raptor conservation.

    The event will benefit the International Raptor and Falconry Center.

    “Meet the Rare Ferruginous Hawk” will take place at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Thursday, July 10 at 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $15, to benefit the International Raptor and Falconry Center.
