    Sedona News – The Sedona Sister Cities Association is proud to host the 2024 Arizona Sister Cities Association State Conference, featuring the Mayor’s International Dinner on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Hilton at Bell Rock. This event will celebrate international relations and showcase Sedona’s role in fostering global partnerships through its Sister Cities program.

    A highlight of the evening will be keynote speaker Ricki Garrett, President and CEO of Sister Cities International, who will discuss the growing importance of citizen diplomacy and how local communities can play a critical role in strengthening international relations.

    The evening will also include a special blessing by Uqualla, an esteemed spiritual leader of the Havasupai Tribe, and a captivating performance by the Lajkonik Polish Folk Ensemble, showcasing the rich cultural exchange that Sister Cities partnerships promote.

    The Mayor’s International Dinner, with Presenting Sponsors Hilton at Bell Rock and Northern Arizona Healthcare, is intended to become an annual event focused on the importance of international relations and recognizing Sedona’s efforts in building global relationships through Sister Cities activities. By gathering local and international leaders, the event will highlight Sedona’s role as a citizen diplomat and celebrate the connections made with Sister Cities worldwide.

    Broad Participation Expected
    The conference, which continues on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Yavapai College’s Sedona Campus, will welcome participants from across Arizona and internationally. With the theme “Finding Common Ground: The Heart of Creating, Revitalizing, and Growing Sister Cities,” the event will feature learning sessions, networking opportunities, and discussions aimed at building, strengthening, and revitalizing Sister Cities partnerships.

    The registration deadline for both the conference and dinner is October 25, 2025. To register, visit sedonasistercities.org.
