Verde Valley News – Yavapai College’s Regional Economic Development Center, in collaboration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), will be offering a free online trademark and patent training series to local businesses and community members.

The training events will be hosted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office and will provide a comprehensive overview of federal trademark registration, maintenance and patents. If you’re a small business owner or entrepreneur seeking to protect your brand and product identities, this training series is for you.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office offers patent and trademark training, on a regular basis, throughout the year. During each series, the USPTO covers one module a week for eight weeks, with each module focused on a different aspect of trademarks and the registration process. These cover a range of topics, from filing and examination to post-registration requirements for keeping your registration alive. Each module concludes with a question-and-answer period where participants can ask USPTO trademark experts questions.

Local businesses can attend the entire series or just the modules that best match their interests, but they must sign-up for each module to attend. Those that attend all eight modules will be certified as completing the bootcamp.
