    VVFD Welcomes Kyla Rolfes as New Fire Inspector

    Verde Valley Fire District

    Cottonwood AZ (March 22, 2018) – Please join me in welcoming Kyla Rolfes to our team as our new Fire Inspector.  Fire Inspector Rolfes received her badge at the February 27th Board Meeting.  Her badge was pinned to her uniform by her father Doug. Also in attendance were her mother, Jane and brother, Ben.

    Kyla has an Associates of Fire Science and an Associates of Paramedicine from Yavapai College.  She graduated with honors. Kyla is a Paramedic, Rope Rescue Technician, Driving instructor and UTV instructor.

    20180322_vvfdKyla has been providing fire and safety education to children in the Verde Valley for the last 10 years through her participation on the regional life and Fire Safety (LAFS) team.  She has also been an instructor for the Vacation Fire School and Safe Sitter programs. In addition, Kyla is a children’s Car Seat Technician.

    Kyla comes to VVFD from Verde Valley Ambulance Company where she was a Captain/Paramedic.  Her work experience also includes being a Reserve Prevention Officer for Camp Verde Fire District, a Reserve Firefighter/Paramedic for Montezuma Rimrock Fire District and a Technician for the Yavapai College EMT class and the Fire Academy.

    We wish Inspector Rolfes an ongoing healthy and safe career.

    What is a life anyway? A single “life?” Is it nothing more than a collection of emotions and thoughts, reverberating pain and pleasure, hopes, dreams and fear? Are we merely meat; flesh and blood creations encapsulating what we believe is a soul? Or is a single life the microcosm and macrocosm of human life on earth, each one of us a unique representation of who we believe we are and the whole of humanity at once? We are born. We grow old.
