… pretty well describes my day and this lovely rose and cloud composite; slightly modified from the large size in my guest suite where it is one of a tryptic set on the wall.

Another such day is underway and looking forward to starting it with ten shots of espresso made from a wonderful roast of Kona coffee that I did earlier this week. I like to do two different roasts and blend them; a medium and a dark and get the flavors unique to each roast. Roasting your own makes a lot of sense as premium Columbian beans (my favorite) are only About $6.00 a pound … compare that with the $15.00 per pound you pay for comparable beans in the stores. The roaster only costs about $150.00 and will last for many years. Math dictates that if you go through a pound a week you will save about $300.00 the first year even after factoring in the cost of the roaster, and the quality is so much better than the major brands. Didn’t intend to write a commercial, but I guess I did. Contact Jon Burman at www.burmancoffee.com

Almost time for the first espresso shots … time for a little sleep. Good morning Jogi … text you later and let you know if I’m still breathing, if not I probably won’t text you :+)

Have a beautiful day and enjoy the things that make you feel good and share a smile or many of them.

At nightfall…though I know I shall sometime no more
Open my eyes to the light or day, I am one who looks at stars when
Unchained from the work-bench at Nightfall.
They are a sign that I am not ephemeral,
Not you, nor you, whoever you are.
The dawn comes and the dark and the sign sparkling in the brooding night,
    Forever and forever.

    Compassionate Sedona?
    By Tommy Acosta
Sedona is known throughout the world as a spiritual destination point where the land and those who live upon it march to the beat of a different drummer. Compassion. Love. Inclusivity and enlightenment are pillars upon which this community is sustained. Yet, something happened a few days ago that made me question if this is really true. I was at dinner at a local restaurant with a fellow community resident, whom I had always thought to be one of the most compassionate people in Sedona. Quite off-handedly my friend asked me how I felt about a city plan to provide safe parking for people who work in Sedona but have to live in their vehicles because they cannot afford the rent to live here, or even in Cottonwood. I said I thought it was a great idea and my friend’s expression went from calmness to shock. “I can’t believe you are telling me that with a straight face,” he gasped, as he dropped his fork on the table. “Do you know what you are saying.” Read more→
