… spent time learning some new software that I am using as a plug-in to Photoshop and decided to try it out on some new shots that I took today for a friend of his Porsche 911T at the airport. I also revisited a photo I took in 1991 of Bell Rock with mt Nikon F2 35mm film camera and a shot I took in 2001 with a Nikon E 950, 2-megapixel camera. Click the link to learn more about this phenomenal digital camera first released 25 years ago! I went all digital in 1998 with the purchase of Nikon 1-megapixal camera and bought this one the next year.

The photo of Bell Rock was taken about a year after we bought our lot in the Village of Oak Creek … we came over here every month for a couple of years as we closed down the law practice in Huntington beach before moving here full time … this was a full on Minesota type snowstorm that occurred the day before and it stuck around for a while. The Village was a different place back then.

The surf shot was taken from the state beach in Huntington Beach in 2001 not far from where we lived for 25 years before moving to Sedona … we originally moved to California from Minnesota. The skyline is Long Beach, California and Huntington beach was living up to its unofficial name of “Surf City.” Loved that place and we spent a lot of time on the beach as a family and Corky and I biked about ten miles every morning along the beach and the Santa Ana River trail before going into the office.

In doing some research on a company today I came across a website that is totally cool and it is a website that has the histories of thousands of great companies … they make a great read … The history of Kraft Cheese is truly cool … it was started with a capital investment of $65.00!

While I was doing the shoot of the Porsche 911T this afternoon, a plane came up to the run up area for R21, did his pre-flight, gave us a wave and then taxied out to the active runway, and accelerated down the runway and took off. At that moment I was sitting in the cockpit, applying full power and relived every moment of the takeoff and the cool sensation of leaving the runway and earth transitioning into flight … never have I yearned to be back in the right seat more than at that moment! Oh well, I had thousands of flights and lived the life!

Into a new week … in about six hours, I’ll be on the side of Red Tail Cliff photographing the red-tailed hawks … great way to get the day going. Have a beautiful day, smile and share a smile with those you meet and greet today … life is as good as we choose for it to be.

    With joy,

Let me not follow the clamor of
    the world, but walk calmly
in my path. Give me a few friends
who will love me for what
I am; and keep ever burning
    before my vagrant steps
    the kindly light of hope.
