… it was a good day for Avocets in breeding plumage and also for Egrets in full breeding plumage at the lake … always look forward to getting shots of the Avocets every Spring and this Spring produced some very beautiful birds on small islands just above the water … the curved bill is so that they can get under rocks and such to obtain their food.
The Egret below is in full breeding plumage too and joins the one talon club (well maybe there are two touching.) Not sure how anyone could ever slaughter these beautiful birds just to get the feathers … they were slaughtered to near extinction in the 1800’s for the fashion industry which incorporated the feathers into beautiful hats for women. Mercifully laws were passed and they were protected and the population has recovered.
A great week so far with time spent with friends and early in the morning it is down to Lake Pleasant and a beautiful day on the water doing what I love to do … hopefully the leaks are all taken care of!

In addition to sales of photographs already taken Ted does special shoots for patrons on request and also does air-to-air photography for those who want photographs of their airplanes in flight. All special photographic sessions are billed on an hourly basis.
Ted also does one-on-one workshops for those interested in learning the techniques he uses. By special arrangement Ted will do one-on-one aerial photography workshops which will include actual photo sessions in the air.
