    … dreaming of castles and flight and it can all come true if you want it to and put in the effort to make it happen. Sometimes the real experiences can be recalled and you can close your eyes and re-live the moment.

    In the photo above we have a Great Blue Heron just taking to flight from the shallow waters near a small sand spit in Lake Pleasant … or any body of water you choose to see him and below we have the hoodoo section of Sycamore Canyon. The hoodoos are located in the upper reaches of the canyon on the east side … not much access that I can see, but there might be some forest service roads that go back there. Looks like castles, figures and other structures … what a view from your suite in the highest levels of a hoodoo resort facility.

    Into the weekend for me … it has been a rewarding week with a lot of projects begun and finished and more to complete before the weekend ends. My new red genie coffee roaster arrived today along with ten pounds of green beans. For the day to day coffee it is hard to beat some of the fine Colombian and Papua New Guinea beans … Kona for special occasions or Mondays 🙂 There is nothing like freshly roasted and ground coffee … check out Burman Coffee Company … they have terrific teas too.

    Continuing the journey … breathe … smile and be kind!

    Cheers

    One morn I rose and looked upon the world.
    “Have I been blind until this hour?” I said.
    O’er every trembling leaf the sun had spread,
    And was like golden tapestry unfurled;
    And as the moments passed more light was hurled
    Upon the drinking earth athirst for light;
    And I, beholding all this wondrous sight,
    Cried out aloud, “O God, I love Thy world!”

    Analyzing City’s Legal Right to
    Ban OHVs on Public Roads

    By Tommy Acosta
    Mea Culpa! Mea Culpa! Mea Maxima Culpa! I screwed up. Blew it. Totally made a fool of myself. Missed the boat. I am talking about my editorial on the OHV fight, No Legal Traction on OHVs. I assumed that it was ADOT that would make a decision on whether the city could legally ban off road vehicles from our public roads like S.R. 89A and S.R. 179. Man was I off. ADOT has nothing to do with allowing or disallowing the city to do so. ADOT’s response to me when I asked them to clarify their position, was curt and to the point. “ADOT designs, builds and maintains the state highway system,” I was told. “It is not our place to offer an opinion on how state law might apply in this matter.” It was a totally “duh” moment for me when I realized that that the decision or judgement on the OHV ordinance, would involve the state and not ADOT. Chagrinned I stand. The crux of the matter then is whether the city can effectively use a number of standing state laws that can be interpreted to determine whether the city can legally ban the vehicles or not.
