    … I got home from the presentation I did at the Sedona Gem & Mineral Club tonight and started going through my old folders with soaring and related shots … before I realized it, it was 1:45A and a little late to choose some other shots, so here goes.

    The photo above is of AZ2 ridge soaring in the east California Sierra in the Bristlecone Pines Park… it is piloted by my friend Paul R who bought AZ2 from me. The Bristlecone Pines are among the oldest living species on earth …. some of them are over 4,800 years old and still growing. Anyhow it is neat to see a shot of her in flight, even if I was not in the cockpit. Nice shot Paul!

    The shot first below is a photo my friend Stu G took of me landing at Sedona Airport … again nice to see it from the outside in flight and this time with me on the stick. In this shot it is in 15-meter wing configuration … about a 44/1 glide ratio.

    The last shot is at last light down at Sampley Field in Aguila … it had been a great day for soaring and now a time for rest. This was during the period when Corky and I had a custom motorhome that she could function in … standard ones are not set up for the handicapped, but this one was perfect for Corky … she had a nice day in air-conditioned comfort whilst I explored the sky.

    Back tomorrow night/morning … keep breathing and enjoy the day you find yourself in.

    I bring but this one common thought
    My life has wrought;
    That from the dregs of drear despair
    Still everywhere
    There is a joy I yet may sip—
    ‘Tis
    With all mankind, the high and low
    I know.

    It Takes a Lifetime and Sometimes Even More

    By Amaya  Gayle

    Sedona, AZ — It takes a lifetime (perhaps lifetimes) of stretching and expanding, ripping and tearing, just to move through one’s predispositions, to meet one’s inbred resistance and evolve to the grace of simple tolerance. During this precious part of the journey, it feels like you are taking the steps, are choosing right, left or straight ahead, that you are in the game.
