    City of Sedona ArizonaSedona AZ (August 29, 2018) – Movies in the Park is back for fall. Join the Sedona Parks and Recreation Department every Friday evening in the month of September for Fall Friday Flicks. Posse Grounds Park offers the perfect backdrop for families and friends to gather and experience cinematic magic in an outdoor setting. Each week a feature film will be shown on a jumbo 32 by 17 foot screen with top-of-the-line equipment that movie-goers are going to love. 

    Attendance is free. Movies are scheduled for Sept. 7, 14, 21, and 28.   

    Fall Friday Flicks will be held on the lower softball field at Posse Grounds Park, 525 Posse Ground Rd. Gates open at 6 p.m. and movies will begin at dusk. Sedona Shaved Ice and Sedona Gold Kettle Corn will be on site selling hot dogs, shaved ice, kettle corn, drinks and other treats. Bring a chair or blanket for seating and a flashlight to find your way after the movie.

    The Sad Lesson of Tyre Nichols

    Having grown up in the mean streets of the Bronx there is one lesson we learn early on, and that’s don’t mess with the cops when they got you down, and outnumbered. The beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the police preceding his death at the hospital could have been avoided if only he had the sense to not resist them. People fail to understand that on the streets, cops are basically “God.” You can’t fight them. If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
