logo_sedonahubSedona AZ (June 15, 2016) – The Sedona Street Arts Festival is a brand new festival celebrating and showcasing street arts starting on Saturday, June 25, 2016, 11 a.m. p.m. at the Sedona Posse Grounds Hub at the Posse Grounds Skate Park. A summer event series, the Sedona Street Arts Festival will be a monthly occurrence, coming to Sedona.

The Sedona Street Arts Festival in June is ALIVE with live music by Ben Steezy (http://bensteezy.com/), Sierra Bliss & Jay Thompson as well as Kayt Pearl ); hip-hop street dances performed by the Sacred G’s (http://www.thesacredgs.com/); slam poetry by Kayt Pearl; and live performance arts by Joanna Horton. The Street Arts Festival will also feature live art in the style of plein air by local artists Autumn Zaun & Alika Middleton.

20160615_streetarts_still_bizOncore Skate & Snow, partnering in this event, will bring a Best Trick Contest from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. at the Posse Grounds Skate Park. Open to everyone – just be there!

An event for locals, the Sedona Street Arts Festival was inspired by a desire  to celebrate youth in all the art forms: live graffiti arts, skateboarding, hip-hop, break-dancing, and other various mediums not often showcased in the Sedona arts scene. The Sedona Street Arts Festival has been developed with the youth in mind, connecting youth to the arts in a way that provides young individuals with a platform to showcase their work, building excitement and support for these unique forms of art and expression.

Look for food and drinks from local Sedona food vendors such as Señor Bob’s Hot Dogs and Wild Tonic Jun Kombucha.

Join the community for this inaugural Free Event at the Hub – supporting youth, local vendors, and performing and visual artists – and gasp at the skateboarders in our state of the art Skateboard Park. See you on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sedona Posse Grounds Hub and Skate Park. For more information, visit www.SedonaHub.org or call  (928) 282-1660.

    What Would I Change?
    By Amaya Gayle Gregory

What would I change if I could? You and I both know I can’t, but it’s a fun exercise anyway. I would have been less of a know-it-all on my spiritual journey. It seems to be a side-effect of the path. Spiritual folks develop an all-knowing buffer to protect against their inevitable surrender to the unknown, but understanding that now didn’t make it gentler on me or those I loved, let alone those that I deemed not capable of getting it 😉 Yeah … I’d have dropped the spiritual snob act. I’d have recognized that spiritual radicals are only different on the outside from radical right Christians, and that the surface doesn’t really matter as much as I thought. We are all doing our couldn’t be otherwise things, playing our perfect roles. I’d have learned to bow down humbly before my fellow man, regardless of whether I agreed with him or not. We’re all in this together and not one of us will get out alive. Read more→
