    Sedona Heritage Museum to Celebrate Veteran’s Day

    logo_sedonamuseum2Sedona AZ (October 27, 2015) – The Sedona Heritage Museum’s annual Veteran’s Day Tribute will be on Wednesday, November 11th beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Museum. This event has become the community’s official Veterans Day event. The tribute will honor veterans and active service people.

    Veteran’s and active military members and their families will be honored guests, but residents are invited to come and meet and thank in-person those who served our country or continue to serve.

    20151027_Vet-Day-prThe program begins with a Flag Ceremony presented by the Sedona Boy Scout Troop 48 & Cub Scouts. Featured speakers will be Mayor Sandy Moriarty, Yavapai County Supervisor Chip Davis, and Coconino County Supervisor Matt Ryan.

    USO-Style entertainment will fill the Museum’s historic shed when Tom and Shondra Jepperson take the stage to perform a mini show of songs that will honor veterans including several American classics. Vocalist Katherine LaTorraca will perform a patriotic music selection.

    Sedona Gift Shop

    Light lunch will be served by Museum volunteers, with the help of food host Jerona Java Cafe.

    Shuttle service will be provided from nearby parking lots just off Jordan Road; watch for the signs.

    The day’s events are underwritten by the City of Sedona and the Sedona Heritage Museum. The program, refreshments and Museum admission are free. For more information call 928-282-7038. The Sedona Heritage Museum is located at 735 Jordan Rd. in Jordan Historical Park in Uptown Sedona.

    Council Slams the Brakes on Flock Surveillance in Sedona

    The Sedona City Council through a majority consensus voted 5–1 at its Wednesday, August 13, special meeting, to temporarily shelve a controversial auto license-reading surveillance program, with council members  Melissa Dunn, Kathy Kinsella  Brian Fultz,  Derek J. Pfaf and Pete Furman giving a thumbs down,  and Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow supporting the cameras.
