Sedona AZ (May 13, 2021) – The Sedona Heritage Museum announces the release of their latest publication, this time a small collection of recipes discovered in the drawers and trunks of Sedona area pioneer families.
“Red Rock Heirloom Recipes, 1880-1930” is a 20-page booklet and an eclectic representation of favorite family recipes for vittles and home remedies, as prepared and used by some of Red Rock’s earliest pioneers and their descendants.

“This little book is a compilation of recipes, memories and photographs, generously shared with the Sedona Historical Society, from some of Sedona’s long-time pioneer families.” said
Kathy Levin, researcher and project coordinator. “Pioneer names include Thompson, Schuerman, Chavez, Dumas, and Elmer. It was a joy to visit with so many remaining members of founding families while seeking recipes.”
Ruth Turner, a new volunteer at the Society, assisted Levin with layout and graphic design. The book is now available in the Museum Gift Shop.
The Sedona Heritage Museum is in Jordan Historical Park at 735 Jordan Rd in Uptown Sedona, AZ. Hours are 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., daily. For more information, call 928-282-7038. sedonamuseum.org.
