logo_sedonamuseum2Sedona AZ (December 5, 2017) – The Sedona Heritage Museum announces the hiring of a new Volunteer Coordinator, Brandy Roberts.

Brandy has a long history in Sedona having graduated from Sedona Red Rock High School and has raised her son here. She also has her own business as a care-giver.

20171205_BrandyRoberts“Growing up, my parents took us to every museum and national park we could travel to. This began my love for history and preservation,” says Roberts. “I am enthusiastic about the programs of the Museum, and the wonderful opportunities we have in our community to connect the past and the present.”

The Museum has a dedicated, engaged group of volunteers, but is always interested in welcoming new members to their “Museum family”. New residents will find involvement as an excellent way to become involved in their new community, learn about Sedona’s past and present, and make new friends. In addition, it is proven that volunteering enriches (and lengthens) your life.

To meet Brandy and learn more about docenting, other volunteer opportunities, and to schedule a free Museum tour, call her at 928-282-7038.

Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
