Jay (Academy Award-nominee Dev Patel) is a man with a secret who travels from Britain to Pakistan to attend a wedding — armed with duct tape, a gun, and a plan to kidnap the bride-to-be (Radhika Apte). Pulsating with the sights and sounds of the Indian subcontinent, “The Wedding Guest” conjures a colorful world where danger lurks at every turn and nothing is as it seems.

Despite his cool efficiency, the plot quickly spirals out of control, sending Jay and his hostage on the run across the border and through the railway stations, back alleys, and black markets of New Delhi — as all the while attractions simmer, loyalties shift, and explosive secrets are revealed.

Inclusivity and enlightenment are pillars upon which this community is sustained. Yet, something happened a few days ago that made me question if this is really true. I was at dinner at a local restaurant with a fellow community resident, whom I had always thought to be one of the most compassionate people in Sedona. Quite off-handedly my friend asked me how I felt about a city plan to provide safe parking for people who work in Sedona but have to live in their vehicles because they cannot afford the rent to live here, or even in Cottonwood.
