    The Scarlet Scroll Art Show

    Sedona Arts AcademySedona AZ (March 29, 2021) – Sedona Arts Academy (SAA) announces The Scarlet Scroll Art Show which runs April 1nd through April 17th, 2021 in conjunction with the one-woman play, Dirty Paki Lingerie, by Aizzah Fatima. SAA is located in The Collective Sedona, in the Village of Oak Creek.

    Artist – Sadaf Alam of Scarlet Scroll Studio in Scottsdale, AZ
    Sadaf Alam is the owner and artist at Scarlet Scroll Studio. She has pursued an interest in the arts from the Islamic world, with a further focus on Islamic geometric design and illumination.  Her study of geometric patterns has enabled her to design many 3dimensional artworks using laser cutting techniques. She has used her talents to teach many workshops and classes in the Scottsdale community, non-profit online distance learning programs and at the Phoenix Art Museum.     Sedona Gift Shop

    We are hosting an Open House on Wednesday, April 14th from 4-6:30pm to celebrate the Islamic culture. Appetizers by Chef Judy Callaghan Morgan of Flavours. In addition, Aizzah Fatima will be performing her one-woman show, Dirty Paki Lingerie. (http://bit.ly/etc-dirty-paki-lingerie) Donations are always appreciated.

    SAA will be following COVID-19 guidelines, so attendance is limited to 50 people. Social distancing and appropriate face masks are required. Proceeds from this event will help benefit future performances and workshops at SAA.

    A Bad Moon Rising

    What the hell is going on? Is the fabric of society in the U.S. tearing apart at the seams? Watching those videos of teens gone wild, smashing windows, stealing from shopping centers, laughing while running over bicyclists — an omen of things to come? What can be done? Catch them? Incarcerate them. Put them in jails until they learn enough about crime to come out as skilled criminals? These kids, these young men and women of color, are growing wild in the streets. From fatherless homes, unable to properly read or write, a dismal and destitute future ahead of them. What is going to happen when they reach adulthood? The cops can’t stop them. There are simply too many. They can flash mob a phalanx of cops and just run berserk around them. What are the police to do? Shoot them? Read more→
