    SAVCO Presents a Memorial Day Ceremony

    Sedona News – Memorial Day is a solemn day of remembrance for everyone who has died serving in the American Armed Forces. The holiday, originally known as Decoration Day, started after the Civil War to honor the Union and Confederate dead and has continued each year since 1868.

    Please join our Sedona Community in honoring our fallen service men and women at this Memorial Day Observance.

    Mayor Scott Jablow will present the Memorial Day Proclamation with SAVCO members retired Army Colonel Al Cornell as the Master of Ceremonies and retired Navy Captain Dave Price serving as the guest speaker.

    Sedona Gift Shop

    Tradition will be honored with the presence of horn player Vicar Julie Gerrish of the Christ Lutheran Church and the Cottonwood Community Band playing ‘To the Colors’ and ‘Taps’,  Actress Gail Edwards of Sedona will perform the National Anthem and God Bless America.

    There is no charge for this ceremony and over 200 seats from Verde Events & Tents will be provided with water distributed by Accord Hospice of Sedona. SAVCO invites all citizens and visitors of Sedona to join them in acts of gratitude and service that lift up all veterans, express pride in country and community.

    It looks like the tried-and-true method of armed conflict where armies face each other and kill until somebody wins or gives up, now all it takes is assassinating the leadership Israeli style. We enter a new phase of war where the leaders are killed first rather than last as in conventional warfare.
