    Northern Arizona Healthcare Welcomes Dr. Mark Bocchicchio to the Cardiovascular Institute in Cottonwood

    Verde Valley News – Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) announced that Mark Bocchicchio, MD, FACC, has joined the Cardiovascular Institute at Verde Valley Medical Center (VVMC). Dr. Bocchicchio is an expert in interventional cardiology, a cardiology specialty that deals specifically with the catheter-based treatment of coronary and structural heart disease.

    “We are very excited that Dr. Bocchicchio is joining the team at the Cardiovascular Institute in Cottonwood,” said Northern Arizona Healthcare Medical Group President Pasquale Bernardi, MD. “Dr. Bocchicchio has extensive experience in cardiovascular medicine and we are thrilled to be able to offer his skills to northern Arizona residents. We know how important specialty services are to the community, we have heard the demand for more cardiology providers, and we will continue to add specialized providers to our team so members of the community can receive the very best in specialty care,” Dr. Bernardi added.

    Dr. Bocchicchio earned his doctorate of medicine from Tulane University in New Orleans and completed his residency in internal medicine at Scripps-Mercy Hospital in San Diego. He completed a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles. He is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.

    The Cardiovascular Institute at NAH comprises 27 providers who offer a wide range of comprehensive heart and vascular services, including noninvasive and minimally invasive diagnostic tests, electrophysiology services, cardiac catheterization, echocardiography labs, and more. In addition, the Cardiovascular Institute at NAH treats numerous conditions and performs a variety of surgical procedures. With Dr. Bocchicchio joining the team, the community will have more options for local cardiovascular care.

      Hope he stays longer than the one year that has been the norm. Cardio patients need long term care and continually starting over with a new cardiologist every year is a senseless hassle.
