Verde Valley News – In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) has announced that it will be hosting “Courage & Care,” a breast cancer awareness event. This free event will include an evening of education, awareness, appetizers and more. Members of the community are encouraged to attend to learn more about the importance of breast health.

Experts from Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare will be speaking about health care standards and innovations in cancer care. The panel will include:
- Genetics – Tarra Young, FNP-C
- Surgeon – Kate Preston, FACS, MD
- Medical Oncologist – Deborah Lindquist, MD
- Radiation Oncologist – Stephanie Rice, MD
- Radiologist – Terrence Cavanaugh, MD
- Bra/prosthetics fitting – Kelly Wirtanen
- Lymphedema Certified Physical Therapist – Cheri Raimonde, DPT
- Plastic Surgeon – Adam Boettcher, MD

The Breast Cancer Program at the Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare is a cooperative program between the cancer patient and the team of breast cancer specialists working together toward optimal treatment outcomes and survival rates. Services provided through the Breast Cancer Program include individual treatment planning and coordination among all involved health care providers. Education and treatment options are based upon the latest research and treatment modalities. The other services associated with the cancer center’s care, such as counseling, support groups, nutrition assessments, lymphedema services and referral network are available to each patient and their family.
