    (January 26, 2012) – SAGA (Sedona Area Guild of Artists) announces their First Open Exhibition for the Visual Arts in Sedona March 29-30. This competition is open to all visual artists working in Ceramics, Glass, Drawing, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Wood, and Textiles/Fiber in the Sedona Area. Deadline for artists’ entries is February 20. The juror will be Jerry Smith, Phoenix Art Museum Curator for American and Western American Art.

    Sedona Gift Shop

    The Exhibition will have media coverage in both Sedona and in the greater Phoenix Media Markets. It is, in part, sponsored by The Amara Resort and they will be advertising it to their guests during the show. Best of Show, First and Second prizes will be awarded at an elaborate award ceremony. A catalog of all accepted entries will be published and the winning entries will be given prominence in the catalog.     Council Slams the Brakes on Flock Surveillance in Sedona

    The Sedona City Council through a majority consensus voted 5–1 at its Wednesday, August 13, special meeting, to temporarily shelve a controversial auto license-reading surveillance program, with council members  Melissa Dunn, Kathy Kinsella  Brian Fultz,  Derek J. Pfaf and Pete Furman giving a thumbs down,  and Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow supporting the cameras.
