Sedona Film Festival hosts big-screen debut of new production of a timeless classic
Sedona AZ (December 22, 2015) – The National Theatre of London continues its season with “Jane Eyre” showing in Sedona on Sunday, Jan. 3 at 3 p.m. The Sedona International Film Festival hosts the big screen premiere at its Mary D. Fisher Theatre.
Madeleine Worrall starts in the title role of this extraordinary production.
Almost 170 years on, Charlotte Brontë’s story of the trailblazing Jane Eyre is as inspiring as ever. This bold and dynamic production uncovers one woman’s fight for freedom and fulfilment on her own terms.
From her beginnings as a destitute orphan, Jane Eyre’s spirited heroine faces life’s obstacles head-on, surviving poverty, injustice and the discovery of bitter betrayal before taking the ultimate decision to follow her heart.
This acclaimed re-imagining of Brontë’s masterpiece was first staged by Bristol Old Vic last year, when the story was performed over two evenings. Director Sally Cookson now brings her celebrated production to the National, presented as a single, exhilarating performance.
Critics are raving about “Jane Eyre”, and it has garnered 4- and 5-star reviews from every major publication in London:
‘Enchanting. Magnificent. Theatre at its most imaginative.’ — Daily Mail
‘A joy to watch. Madeleine Worrall’s passion sets the performance alight’ — Time Out
‘A fresh, exciting and endlessly inventive production.’ — Evening Standard
‘Original, engaging and unexpectedly funny.’ — Daily Telegraph
‘Aflame with passion. A picture of exultant feminism.’ — The Observer
