    Motor Vehicle Accident at SR 89A and Page Springs Road

    logo_verdevalleyfiredistrictCottonwood AZ (February 3, 2019) – Verde Valley Fire Units were dispatched on 2/2/19 at 09:30 to a two vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of State Route 89A and Page Springs Road. When units arrived on scene, they for two passenger vehicles with heavy damage to both vehicles. Units had to close the north bound lanes for about 30 minutes to extricate a patient for one of the vehicle. There was a total of three patient with non- life threatening injuries.

    All three patients were treated and transported to Verde Valley Medical Center for further treatment and evaluation. Arizona Department of Public Safety Troopers were on scene to investigate the incident and control traffic.

    As a reminder, use caution when driving on State Highways with Intersections. Always be aware of cross traffic.

    The Sad Lesson of Tyre Nichols

    Having grown up in the mean streets of the Bronx there is one lesson we learn early on, and that’s don’t mess with the cops when they got you down, and outnumbered. The beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the police preceding his death at the hospital could have been avoided if only he had the sense to not resist them. People fail to understand that on the streets, cops are basically “God.” You can’t fight them. If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
