Mother’s Day Picnic on the Mesa, a fundraiser for the Verde Valley Sanctuary, will take place on Sunday, May 14, 2017, at 5 p.m. at Sky Ranch Lodge on Airport Mesa. Relax with a glass of wine or cold beer, kick up your heels to live music and play a carnival-style game to win beautiful gourmet baskets filled with scrumptious meals from your favorite local restaurants. Once you’ve won your basket, make yourself comfortable at checker-clothed tables and enjoy your feast surrounded by one of the best red rock views in town.

Tickets for Mother’s Day Picnic on the Mesa are $75 and will go on sale soon, so stay tuned for further announcements or visit www.verdevalleysanctuary.org. This is one Sedona event you don’t want to miss!

Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
