    Mental Health Coalition Verde Valley Announces
    Healing Trauma Services Day

    logo_mentalhealthawarenessweekSedona AZ (September 16, 2017) – The Mental Health Coalition Verde Valley and Sedona Posse Grounds HUB are partnering for Healing Trauma Services Day on Saturday, October 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m. This free community service event will take place at the Sedona Posse Grounds HUB located at 525B Posse Grounds Road, Sedona AZ. 

    Practitioners will be offering a variety of complimentary holistic healing modalities to individuals experiencing trauma, stress, anxiety and/or depression. Attendees will have an opportunity to receive three 30-minute treatments on a first-come, first-served basis. Modalities include Acupuncture, CranioSacral Therapy, Energy Medicine, Healing Touch, Intuitive Healing, Myofascial Release, Reiki and Trauma Tapping Technique.

    The two non-profit organizations are inviting the Sedona and Verde Valley communities as well as primary care providers, social workers, veterans’ services and health and medical service providers to refer individuals to participate.

    According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, “Approximately 1 in 5 adults in the US experiences mental illness in a given year; approximately 1 in 5 youth ages 13-18 experiences a severe mental disorder at some time during their life; and about 16 million adults in the US have had a major depressive episode in the past year.” According to Barbara Litrell, President of the Mental Health Coalition Verde Valley, “Our goal is to introduce individuals to holistic modalities that can compliment their medical treatment plans and provide additional skills and tools to help manage their conditions.”
