Last May I appealed “smart” meter Decision # 75047 made by the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC). The Decision was illegal in many ways. Plus the commissioners lied repeatedly throughout the Decision.

I detailed all the lies and lawlessness in my appeal to the ACC (here: http://images.edocket.azcc.gov/docketpdf/0000163221.pdf ), but the commissioners denied my appeal by not responding to it within the 20 days specified in law.

I then brought the ACC’s serial lawbreaking to the attention of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office but, typically, it was not interested in enforcing the law, so my only recourse was to file an appeal in Superior Court which I did yesterday. Read More→

Yesterday was a hot day and a high-electricity use day. About 2 pm yesterday, the pump for our well, which we share with everyone on the street, stopped working and water pressure was weak. At 6 pm, the pump magically came to life and everyone’s water worked fine.

A smart meter was recently installed on our pumphouse. Is this what we are to expect on hot days? So when all the timeshares, businessness, and hotels in town are running their A/C on high speed we get no water?

Also, since the Smart Meter was installed, our bills have nearly tripled.

There’s nothing smart about a smart meter and I’m looking into immediately having the smart meter replaced with the analog one they took off (without knowledge or permission).

Thanks for the updates – and thanks for all that you do. It’s much appreciated.

@ can’t agree more! — If you are on APS there is no charge at this time for switching to analog. Be warned however — depending on who answers the phone at APS your request may go smoothly or it may be rebuffed with BS excuses like ‘we don’t have any more analogs.’ In either case you will also likely be met with APS misinfo and propaganda like ‘there are no health threats’ or, in your case, ‘the “smart” meter is more accurate than analog.’ Don’t be swayed and don’t take no for an answer. I know some customers had to make three calls to get the job done.

BTW, if anyone doubts that “smart” meters are unreliable for accurate billing, just do a search for “smart” meter overbilling. Pages and pages of reports of people’s bills doubling and tripling with show up. It’s very common and it’s not because the previous analog was running slow.

    What Would I Change?

What would I change if I could? You and I both know I can’t, but it’s a fun exercise anyway. I would have been less of a know-it-all on my spiritual journey. It seems to be a side-effect of the path. Spiritual folks develop an all-knowing buffer to protect against their inevitable surrender to the unknown, but understanding that now didn’t make it gentler on me or those I loved, let alone those that I deemed not capable of getting it 😉 Yeah … I’d have dropped the spiritual snob act. I’d have recognized that spiritual radicals are only different on the outside from radical right Christians, and that the surface doesn’t really matter as much as I thought. We are all doing our couldn’t be otherwise things, playing our perfect roles. I’d have learned to bow down humbly before my fellow man, regardless of whether I agreed with him or not. We’re all in this together and not one of us will get out alive. Read more→
