photo_elizabethcateWhether you prefer to appreciate arts and culture or want to take part in a creative endeavor, you will find a book on our shelves or available to order from the Yavapai Library Network. New book arrivals include Vincent Van Gogh: The Complete Paintings, Kaffe Fassett’s Heritage Quilts, and The Elements of Landscape Oil Painting, as well as the latest biographies of musicians, actors, and writers.

The Library’s magazine offerings encompass a wide range of artistic activities and cultural areas. Choose from publications such as Entertainment Weekly, Southwest Art, Smithsonian, Architectural Digest, and Rolling Stone, and browse our great selection of titles for crafters, writers, and other artists, like American Patchwork and Quilting, Writer’s Digest, and Outdoor Photographer.

Did you know the Library has over 1,300 music CDs available to check out? Choose from genres such as rock, new age, holiday, classical, and country. Thousands of additional music CDs are available from other county libraries. Browse the collection, located near the DVDs, or order online from your home computer.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Library is continually receiving donations of the popular Great Courses series and adding them to our collection. These audiobook or DVD courses, taught by noted experts in their fields, provide opportunities to hear in-depth lectures about artistic and cultural subjects from Shakespeare to Impressionism to jazz.

This is only a small sampling of the arts and culture collections offered by the Library—our online resources also give you access to digital magazines, books, and audiobooks on a wealth of topics. Ask a reference librarian how to start using these terrific free resources, available to you 24/7.

If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
