One such gap occurs in the summer when children who rely on schoolbased free meal programs lose access to important sources of nutrition. This year, Manzanita will use its caring volunteer force and large-scale food storage and distribution capacity to administer the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) for our region. Arizona News – The Coconino National Forest’s Flagstaff Ranger District (FRD) is soliciting public comments on a proposed forest thinning project aimed at reducing the risk of catastrophic wildfire in the Flagstaff area. The Leroux Fuels Management Project aims to treat roughly 1,885 acres of Coconino National Forest land west of the Kachina Peaks Wilderness area by mechanically thinning overgrown areas of the FRD. Arizona News – Members of the newly formed Arizona Cancer Action Caucus held their inaugural meeting Wednesday afternoon at the state capitol to discuss ways to combat the disease in the state. The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) helped form the caucus, which consists of a bipartisan group of seven state lawmakers.
