Arizona News – As part of important active forest management, fire managers are planning a number of prescribed burn projects next week to reduce hazardous forest fuels in strategic areas of the national forest to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires to many northern Arizona communities. Prescribed burns are always dependent upon multiple conditions, including personnel availability, fuel conditions, weather and approval from the Arizona Department of Environment Quality. The burns may be changed or canceled last-minute if burn conditions do not meet criteria outlined in advance. Emergency services were dispatched following reports that one vehicle had rolled over and was resting on its roof with occupants trapped inside. … as I was working on the presentation I am giving at the Verde Valley Bird and Nature Festival 2025 this Thursday morning at 10AM, I spent several hours just going through saved folders looking for beauty, and I found it. The photograph above is of a Caspian Tern that was migrating through here and below is a shot of two Black Crowned Night Herons that were with a much larger group that were building nests and breeding in the area.
