Pain, in all its shapes and forms, is the one certainty life gives us all. No one escapes it. Naturally, then, we seek to avoid it—by any means necessary. Sedona,AZ –There are times, even now, when the fact that I did my best wasn’t good enough. I know, deep down, that my life, and those it touched, couldn’t have been otherwise and yet, I ache with the recognition honed from years of new experiences fired in the kiln of inner work, that I hurt others, that time and again, I also hurt myself. When those times arise, I no longer run into a new experience, dosing myself with diversion. Running never worked anyway. We all know this, but sometimes the instinct is just too strong. I simply sit and…

By Mike Schroeder Sedona, AZ — The problem the left has, is making a quick negative analysis on any Trump program, not realizing that it is based on 5%, or just the launch of the deal. They assume “that’s the deal.” So, liberal’s heads explode, and they write big rants and make big speeches before the deal unfolds and end up eating their words and embarrassing themselves. (TDS, Trump Derangement Syndrome is a real thing). You would think that if something is good for the country, at home or internationally then they should at least appreciate it. That’s a “maybe”,…

By Da. Stv. Sedona, aZ — Consciousness, from philosophy, is referred to as what it feels like to be, or that it feels like something to be. This is sometimes distilled into subjective experience. To obtain a standard measure, this definition has to be converted into equivalents in psychology for eventual parallels in neuroscience. The standard for consciousness is human. The basis of human consciousness is the brain. What are the components for consciousness in the brain and how do they mechanize consciousness? It is possible to totalize this, assigning fractions to components [+mechanisms]. This can be used as a standard…

After revisiting my shoot at Eric’s last Friday morning I came up with some locals and to close the session out one more of the Lazuli Buntings. There was a baby Harris Antelope ground squirrel that was alternatively dashing to a spot under the feeder and returning to a little rock in front of me. He would snatch a single sunflower seed and return to his perch to eat the seed. The shot above shows him bursting out from under the feeder with seed firmly grasped in his mouth … the shot below is the very next frame as he continues his…
