ADHS has consistently followed Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and today’s updated CDC recommendations on mask use are no exception. The CDC’s mask recommendations now vary according to a community level that considers COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents and COVID-19’s impact on the local healthcare system. Verde Valley News – Friends of the Verde River is pleased to announce the recipients of the annual River Friendly Living small grants program. Due to the overwhelming support of more than 30 local businesses, Friends of the Verde River was able to fund four worthy projects in 2022. Since 2014, these businesses have put nearly $100,000 back into our community. All of the participating businesses are taking big steps to becoming certified as River Friendly Businesses. Sedona News – As the State Route (SR) 179 Sewer Main Replacement Project: Phase 2 continues, the city of Sedona and their contractor, Standard Construction Company, will conduct night work and road closures over the next week as crews work to finish repairing additional sewer main that was discovered to be damaged as well as repair concrete that was damaged during sewer repair. Sedona News – The local kickoff event at the Sedona Performing Arts Center for this year’s Sedona International Film Festival (SIFF), “An Afternoon with Bruce Babbitt,” attracted a large, enthusiastic audience. Prior to hearing Secretary Babbitt speak, SIFF screened a new movie, “Red Rock State Park”, now showing to visitors at the park. Sedona News – As part of a new sustainability initiative, the city of Sedona encourages residents to apply for up to $5,000 in funding to make their homes more energy efficient and weatherized. Known as the Home Energy Retrofit Project and in partnership with CozyHome LLC, the project is intended to benefit moderate and low-income residents within Sedona city limits. Home weatherization and retrofitting services supported by this project include duct sealing, air sealing, insulation repair, lighting upgrades, mini-split installations and heat pump installations.
