Yavapai CollegePrescott AZ (March 25, 2020) – The Yavapai College Foundation has partnered with Arizona Gives Day to boost the college’s ability to provide emergency grants to students at risk of faltering in their educational journeys because of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Arizona Gives Day, an online fundraising initiative on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, brings together Arizonans  from across the state to raise awareness and financial support for nonprofit organizations statewide.

YC’s Student Emergency Fund has helped dozens of students help pay car repairs, childcare, rent and other bills since its inception. The COVID-19 virus has eliminated jobs and created other financial constraints for students, said YC Foundation Executive Director Paul Kirchgraber. “Not surprisingly, the pandemic has placed a great demand on our emergency fund and we’re hoping our partnership with Arizona Gives Day will ensure we can continue to meet our students’ emergency financial needs,” he said.

The YCF will direct all donations received from generous community members via Arizona Gives Day to the student emergency fund. Early giving for Arizona Gives Day is now underway. Donors can find the Yavapai College Foundation easily on the Arizona Gives Day website, www.AZGIVES.ORG/yavapaicollegefoundation. Contributions to AZGIVES.ORG and the YC Student Emergency Fund also can be made on the college’s website here: www.yc.edu/workplacegiving
