Sedona AZ (February 26, 2020) – The Humane Society of Sedona and the Sedona PetSmart located in the Safeway shopping center in West Sedona have teamed up for another exciting adoption weekend event to begin 2020. As part of the PetSmart National Adoption Weekend events across the country, the Humane Society of Sedona brings additional adoptable pets to the PetSmart location Friday, February 28 to Sunday, March 1. We will have selected animals at the PetSmart location from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on these days; with the event at the main shelter lasting from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, which are normal business hours. Yavapai Broadcasting will be “live” at PetSmart on Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

    Humane Society of Sedona

The Humane Society of Sedona shelter at 2115 Shelby Drive in West Sedona always has a wide selection of dogs and cats ready for adoption. The hours for the shelter are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. each day throughout the year and the main shelter location is part of this event.

20200226_PetSmartEvent1Some adoptable cats will be in the permanent “Cat Condo” located inside PetSmart. Dogs will also be present outside for adoption but please note that the animals brought over from the shelter will only be on-site from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. each day. They will return to the shelter and can be viewed there if you feel you have found that perfect family addition. Adoptions can be handled at either of the locations during the event.

The weekend event has reduced adoption fees to $50.00 for animals 6 months or older; $0 fees for Active Military or Veterans and kittens are 2 for 1. We also have several “bonded” pairs of cats that must be adopted together so this is a great opportunity to enlarge your family.

The benefits of adopting from the Humane Society of Sedona are:

    20200226_petsmartevent2BEFORE ADOPTION:
    · Medical evaluation/treatment
    · Behavior screening
    · Vaccinations
    · Microchipping

    · HSS ID tag & collar
    · Initial vet visit coupon
    · Behavior evaluation coupon
    · Microchip registration
    · PetSmart Coupon book coupon
    · Dog Wash coupon

HSS staff and volunteers socialize all our animals daily to help them be ready to connect with their new families.
