City of Sedona ArizonaSedona AZ (February 16, 2020) – Applications for the fourth annual Red Dirt Concert Series at the Posse Grounds Pavilion are now being accepted from performers of all kinds until Feb. 28, 2020. Five musical acts will be chosen for the 2020 Spring Series, with one to headline each concert.

Various acts from across northern Arizona and the Verde Valley will entertain in front of the beautiful red rock background over five evenings in the summer. The Red Dirt Concert Series will be held from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., on the following Fridays:

    • May 22
    • May 29
    • June 5
    • June 12
    • June 19

Opening acts are also being sought from musicians, poets and other performers, and are encouraged to apply. All selected performers will be paid and have a contract with the city of Sedona. Selections for performers will be made by March 6. The application can be found online, at the city of Sedona’s Parks and Recreation Department webpage at sedonaaz.gov/parks.

The Red Dirt Concert Series is a collaboration between the city of Sedona and Friends of the Posse Grounds who spent 14 years planning and raising funds to create and provide a performance venue that would be used to showcase artistic talent in Sedona. In May of 2017, an inaugural performance was held to celebrate the opening of the park, and that fall began the first Red Dirt Concert Series. Since then, it has been the location of many public and private events including festivals, concerts, weddings, speaking engagements, award ceremonies, celebrations, movies and more!

These concerts are free to attend. Posse Grounds Pavilion is located at 525 Posse Grounds Rd. Questions about the Red Dirt Concert Series or the performer applications can be emailed to jvargo@sedonaaz.gov.
