    LWVGVV Celebrates 100th Anniversary

    Secretary of State Katie Hobbs to Speak at League of Women Voters Greater Verde Valley Centennial Celebration!

    logo_leagueofwomenvotersSedona AZ (February 3, 2020) – The League of Women Voters Greater Verde Valley (LWVGVV) Women Power the Vote Luncheon will feature Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs. This event will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, February 20, at Poco Diablo Resort, 1752 Rt. 179, Sedona.

     We are pleased to have Secretary Hobbs join us to celebrate the founding of the League by Carrie Chapman Catt, 100 years ago!” said Angela LeFevre, Acting President of the League of Women Voters Greater Verde Valley.

    Secretary Hobbs will discuss the importance of fair elections and election security. The Secretary is the second highest ranking elected official in the State.

    Noted local historian, Janeen Trevyllian will take the stage to portray Carrie Chapman Catt (Founder, League of Women Voters) and present the story of the League’s formation.

    Women from the Verde Valley who are seeking political office in 2020 will also be recognized.
