    Residental fire at the Verde Valley Manor

    logo_verdevalleyfiredistrictCottonwood AZ (May 10, 2019) – Verde Valley Fire District (VVFD) responded to the report of a residential fire at the Verde Valley Manor. A resident reported that a heating pad had caught fire on her bed while she was sleeping. The resident was able to evacuate from the residence with minor injuries. Crews arrived and made entry to the residence, located and extinguished the fire.

    The resident advised that a cat was still inside the residence. The crew was able to locate and remove the cat. The cat was handed to additional crew members given oxygen, and was later evaluated by Cottonwood Animal Control.

    The resident was evaluated by Verde Valley Ambulance Company but refused any further medical treatment or transport.

    Verde Valley Fire was assisted on scene by Cottonwood Fire and Medical Department, Verde Valley Ambulance Company, Cottonwood Police and Animal Control, ACT (Arizona Crisis Team), and APS.
