    logo_ksbSedona AZ (May 3, 2018) – Join Keep Sedona Beautiful (“KSB”) to discover what efforts are being taken by the city of Sedona towards sustainability as part of Keep Sedona Beautiful’s Preserving the Wonder(tm) Speaker Series on Wednesday, May 9.

    Free to members, residents and visitors – all are welcome to join KSB at 5:30 p.m. at its historic Pushmataha Center on 360 Brewer Road.  The evening will include complimentary appetizers donated by El Rincon Restaurante Mexicano and refreshments provided by KSB.

    20180503_JustinCliftonAccording to City Manager Justin Clifton, “the Sedona Community Plan sets ambitious goals for sustainability, establishing a vision that by 2020 beyond, Sedona would, ‘become an international model for the successful balancing of environmental protection and human wants and needs'”.

    This presentation will outline how the city is attempting to develop a sustainability “lens” through which tourism, traffic, housing, resource protections and other pressing challenges are viewed.  Attendees will learn about how the city is investing in sustainability policies and programs and receive an update on current events.

    Justin has served has the City Manager of Sedona for three years.  He relocated to Sedona from Colorado where he served two communities in the same capacity.

    Since arriving in Sedona, Justin and his wife Shelley have had two children, Elian and Ollia.  Spending significant family time among Sedona’s red rocks, Justin has had ample time to think about Sedona’s long-term quality of life and sustainability from a personal, as well as professional perspective.  Prior to embarking on a career in public service, Justin received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Philosophy from Fort Lewis College and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the University of Colorado, Denver.

    Keep Sedona Beautiful’s monthly Preserving the Wonder(tm) Speaker Series is held the second Wednesday of each month from September through May.  It focuses on presenting a diversity of programs relevant to the unique environment of our region.
